About Us
Level Green offers English riding lessons for both children and adults year round; ½ hour private lesson for beginners, 1
hour group lessons and trail rides. We also conduct Spring and Summer day camp for children ages 7 to 16. Our services include
boarding, leasing, training and sales. Facilities include 2 riding rings (1 lighted), cross country course and 200 acres of
woods, pastures, and riding trails. Although we specialize in hunter and equitation, we also offer dressage, eventing, jumper
and recreational riding. Our students compete at both local and A shows, and we participate in the American Interriding School
Competition, where we compete against other riding schools throughout the state. We hold 2 VHSA/CHSA shows, 2 schooling shows
for all our students, and sponsor Calais Horse Trials twice each year.
Our History
Level Green has been operating under Pat & Jon Betts as a riding and boarding barn for over 25 years, and has grown to
include 45 school horses of all levels and sizes. Pat Betts is a certified British Horse Society instructor and has been teaching
lessons for 40 years. Level Green is supported by a staff of 5 experienced riders and trainers, including her 3 daughters,
Yvonne, Fiona and Emily, who have extensive experience with Pony Club, Collegiate Riding and hunter showing.
